JJ Liu was born in Taiwan and graduated from Ming Chuan College.  She earned her master degree in computer science at Bradley University in peoria IL, and worked as Computer Software Engineer for Loral Space system. 

As a youngster, she played in various Chinese gambling games, and in 1996 she played Texas Hold'em for the first time in the Bay 101 casino.

JJ won the 1997 Queen of Queens title at the Four Queens Classic.  She also won a Bay 101 Uncle Louie title, an Ultimate Bet title, and a World Poker Challenge title.

She has nine WSOP cashes, including three final tables.  She has five WPT cashes, including a fourth-place finish in the 2005 Five Diamond WPT main Event, when she took home $362,140.   She also won the WPT lady's nightout.  

In 2005 JJ  was the highest ranking woman in the 2005 Cardplayer magazine Player of the Year competition.
